Look Good Feel Better - Q&A Session
Interactive Silent Auction Question and Answer Session
What was your experience working with IML? Did the set up and use of this technology run smoothly?
Yes, they were a great bunch to work with and everything was seamless –
Did anything unexpected occur while using this technology and how did the IML staff handle this?
We decided at the final hour to stagger our lot closings and the on-site IML personnel accommodated the change and provided us with the paperwork to the best of their ability given the limitations of the technology that would normally preclude them from doing so.
What was your guests’ response to the technology?
Loved it!
What is the average age of your guests?
30 - 60
Has your organization hosted a traditional silent auction before? If so, on average, how much revenue did you earn? What was the difference with IML’s technology?
Yes, we’ve had a traditional silent auction for 17 years and made approx $130K/year. With IML, approx +7% we considered this a huge success given the economy.
How many IML technicians did you have on staff at your event? Did you feel this amount was sufficient to address your guests’ needs? How many guests were at the event?
We had two IML staff, and I felt that was sufficient. We had 650 guests at the event.
How did your guests learn how to use the technology? Was the method you used to teach them how to use it effective?
We included inserts in the Auction Guide. Very.
How did the auction closing process work? Did it run smoothly? Was IML able to provide you with invoices on site?
Staggered lot closing caused a bit of confusion but IML helped us deal with it. Front of the house experience – great. Yes, along with individual summary reports by lot and by guest.
Was IML timely in providing additional materials after the event (bid sheets, other statistics, etc)?
Absolutely – within the day.
What was the rate of return on getting full payment for items? Was it higher using IML?
Slightly – see above for uplift
Did you use the pledge function? Were guests pleased to have that as an option?
Yes. Yes but we could have flagged it better.
Would you recommend using IML? If so, is there anything about the process or relationship that you would change?
Absolutely! Only the ability to close by lot – this is important to our guests.
How were your screens set up – was it invasive? Did it detract from the décor of the event? Did guests still visit the auction tables?
No, our screens were already integrated with the décor. Yes guests still visited the tables.
Did you have trouble getting back all of the cards? (Did guests walk off with them?)
Full retrieval of both cards and units
