How many keypads can I hire?
There are no limitations to the amount of Communicator keypads that can be hired or purchased. Whether you need 5 or 5000 keypads, you can be assured that IML will provide a service to suit your event needs.
Am I limited to asking just closed questions?
IML's audience response systems incorporate text messaging, so that your audience can answer ‘open' questions in their own words.
The Communicator keypad enables audience members to send you instant text messages in response to questions and IML's laptop-based messaging system, enotes, is perfect for use in a round-table environment.
Text messaging can be used alongside instant voting to give you invaluable quantitative and qualitative audience response data.
Can I ask more than multiple choice questions?
IML's system offers a wealth of question options and we would encourage you to use a range of question options to ensure that you harness the maximum benefits from our interactive system.

Can I automatically split voting results into demographic groups?
By asking simple demographic questions at the beginning of your presentation, such as; which region are you from? And Are you male or female? You can instantly split the results from other questions into demographic groups. For example, you can split the results to show how males and females voted in a particular question or how people from different regions or company departments voted.
You can even split voting results from past presentations with live votes and display them to your audience instantly.
Demographic split results are easy to achieve and can be displayed live to your audience in graph form.
How can I identify and track individual audience members?
Identifying and tracking votes and text messages back to the individual who sent them couldn't be easier with IML's Smartcard identification cards.
Smartcards are unique to each individual, storing their name alongside other details, such as company name and job title.
Audience members simply insert their personal Smartcard into their Communicator keypad to activate it and IML's audience response system will automatically identify their responses.
How long does it take IML's audience response system to process votes?
Unlike other audience response systems, IML's Communicator keypad technology is not a polled system. Audience votes are registered instantly and results appear live, on-screen immediately after a vote has been closed.
IML's audience response system is proven to deliver instant results, regardless of how large your audience is.
In what format and how quickly will I get my results?
Your IML Interactive Producer can provide you with the results in a PowerPoint® format on-site or they can be emailed to you post-event. We can also provide the raw data in an Excel® format if you would like to do further data analysis.
IML securely store all data from every event should you need to consult the data again at any time in the future.
What happens if delegates leave the room with the keypads?
IML's Communicator keypad features an in-built alarm. At the end of an event we can activate the alarm to sound as soon as keypads leave range of the base station. There is no way for the delegates to turn this alarm off.
How long in advance and in what format do I need to provide the questions?
We ask for questions to be sent in any electronic format, (Word®, PowerPoint® etc) along with your PowerPoint® template, ideally 5 working days before the event. Your IML Interactive Producer will programme your questions for you and can email them back to you in a PowerPoint® format for you to review and sign-off.
Can we make changes/add questions on-site?
We recognise that changes are often made to presentations on-site and we offer you the flexibility to change your questions too. You may even wish to ask additional questions.

How does the IML system integrate with standard audio visual equipment?
Prior to your event, your IML Interactive Producer will liaise with your AV suppliers to ensure that the systems are integrated with no problems on-site.
