Medical Symposium

Wireless Audience Voting Helps Medical Symposium Move At The Speed of Text

As the keynote ends, Suzanne glances at the lightweight IML Communicator in hand.  Courtesy of a text message from the event organizer, Suzanne sees the exact time and location of her upcoming session.

A veteran attendee of this event, the country’s largest medical symposium, hospital administrator Suzanne has become accustomed to difficult navigation between sessions.  With the Message Manager software in her IML Communicator, she will be able to focus on absorbing the promise of her first session, “Improving Hospital ROI,” rather than “wondering where am I.”

Walking the tradeshow floor on her way to this first session, hospital administrator Suzanne interacts with a never-ending array of booths and industry vendors.  From a new set of golf clubs to plasma TVs, many booths offer prizes along with knowledge of the latest medical products and solutions.

Thanks to the IML Communicator Suzanne holds, and its wireless audience response voting system, the booths and vendors themselves are also eligible for prizes.  Hospital administrator Suzanne and her fellow attendees will use their wireless audience response voting systems to vote on the Event’s Best Booth.  Suzanne can’t be certain, but vendors seems just a bit nicer this year.

Much later in the day, late afternoon encroaches, bringing with it hunger for Suzanne who was not able to make it to lunch. Suzanne opts to skip the symposium’s next session in favor of eating the lunchroom’s last sandwich.  Suzanne sits directly outside the session she is missing.

When one of the event hosts first handed her the IML Communicator, he stated that its Message Manager capabilities would help her pick up every shred of information from the conference.  Outside the session, on monitors branded with the name IML, she sees real-time blogging, Q&A and even Twittering live from inside.

Days later, hospital administrator Suzanne prepares to retreat back to her everyday life.  She turns in her IML Communicator, relinquishing the power of its Message Manager software and wireless audience response voting capabilities.

Thanks to that device, each muscle in her brain was able to absorb the interactive training ideas and solutions regarding how to be a medical administrator, rather than how to successfully navigate a symposium.
