Electronic Voting & Registration Streamlines
Annual Shareholder Meetings
500 Shareholders Checked In & Ready To Vote
Terrell waits with an eager crowd of 500 outside the conference center. Soon, this center will open its doors to host the annual shareholder meeting for the company for which Terrell has long been a shareholder. Each year, the crowd carries an air of chaos, complicating the business at hand. The conference center doors open with a boom and Terrell prepares to wait in line a very long time. He hopes he doesn’t miss out on the breakfast bar inside!
This year, though, something feels different. The line moves very fast, as attendees register and move along in about twenty seconds.
When Terrell approaches the front, he learns why. He receives an IML Communicator and Smartcard ID card. The Communicator is an electronic voting system and keypad, and when combined with the Smartcard ID card, it instantly ties Terrell to his shareholder status and registers him instantly.
“Voting for the directors will be just as easy,” promises event organizer Eric, as he points briefly shows Terrell how the electronic voting system and keypad functions.
Later, as Terrell approaches the end of his second line, the striking breakfast bar, he turns and is shocked. Not a single shareholder, voter or journalist of the original crowd of 500 remains in line.
Terrell has just enough time to finish his breakfast before the order of business. As quickly as voting begins, it seems to end, as shareholder votes instantly displays on the conference center’s large monitor.
Terrell sees his vote instantly tabulate with the millions of other shares voted before the meeting, on-line and in the meeting room. Smartcard ID cards even ensure these votes display with an indication of shareholder value.
The meeting concludes as Terrell turns in his IML Communicator and ID card. He feels safe in the knowledge that he has had his vote on the future direction of the company
Thanks to those IML Communicators, there wasn’t a single chaotic moment during that meeting. Better yet, thanks to that enormous breakfast bar, there wasn’t even a need to break for lunch!
