IML provided electronic voting and text messaging at The Prince of Wales May Day Business Summit, held nationwide on Tuesday May 1st.
The May Day Business Summit, hosted by HRH the Prince of Wales at St James Palace brought together more than 1,000 Chief Executives and Directors of UK industry.
The event aimed to understand the issues that challenge businesses in reducing carbon emissions and featured a live video link-up between 10 simultaneously participating sites across
IML's interactive keypads were used by business leaders who were surveyed on important factors such as: "How important is tackling climate change to your business?" and "What opportunities does a low carbon economy present for businesses?"
Text messaging from IML's keypads proved extremely popular - organizers were inundated with over 1,600 text messages offering ideas, opinions and advice on overcoming barriers.
Major Bristish companies represented included Barclays Bank, British Airways, BSkyB, BT, J Sainsbury, Marks & Spencer, Rolls-Royce and Thames Water.
Famous British actor and comedian Stephen Fry hosted a fun, informative interactive table quiz, where business leaders used IML's keypads to answer questions designed to challenge pre-conceived ideas about the environment.
Opinions were polled using IML's keypads before and after the summit. This revealed that attitudes at all sites had changed, with an increased majority of business leaders agreeing even more strongly that addressing climate change is a key business priority.
Senior decision makers used IML's interactive keypads to text-in their company's pledge to reduce carbon emissions. Over 400 pledges were made using the keypads, among the most popular pledge was identifying a board-level representative to champion carbon reductions, and working alongside suppliers to cut emissions.
