Quest Worldwide uses IML’s system to deploy a new strategy for a multi-national energy company…
Leading management consultants Quest Worldwide, were commissioned by a large multi-national energy company to help deploy their new strategic direction and engage managers and staff around the world to implement it effectively.
Quest Worldwide is a strong advocate of IML's interactive system and were clear that they wanted to use it to ensure an interactive, energizing and challenging process.
IML worked closely with Quest Worldwide to understand the specific project requirements and tailor an interactive solution that would help the client gain maximum value from each event.
Quest used IML's Question Wizard 8 software to create interactive PowerPoint® presentations that participants could respond to using IML's Communicator keypads.
Event
At the beginning of each event, participants were asked how much they understood about the new strategy. Using IML's Communicator keypads they were able to respond immediately to the question, showing both average ratings and their distribution, which enabled the event leaders to identify areas for further discussion.
The participants were asked the same question at the beginning of day two and compared responses with day one to gauge changes in understanding of the strategy after a full day of presentations and discussions.
Throughout the event, participants used their Communicator keypads to text-in questions, comments and concerns regarding the new strategy. Text messages were received immediately, enabling Quest and the client to respond quickly to concerns and identify areas where more work needed to be done.
In order to accurately measure the needs of the entire group, Quest Worldwide created impromptu question slides and asked participants to vote on some of the questions and comments sent in. This enabled Quest to see whether the issues and questions raised by individuals reflected a broad range of views.
On day 2 of the event, Quest organized participants into groups and used an interactive quiz to test their knowledge and inject a fun element into the training sessions.
In order to begin the quiz, participants had to text-in their names. This made it possible to identify individuals and assess knowledge levels.
The quiz consisted of three speed scoring rounds that required each group to answer a series of questions about the new strategy. Individual and group scores were displayed immediately after each round and at the end of the training session.
IML's system automatically saved all feedback to a database for on-site printing and post-event analysis. For more detailed analysis, feedback results were grouped by function, enabling the management to assess the knowledge levels in each area.
Client testimonial:
"High Impact Events are one of Quest Worldwides' core approaches to help our clients to develop People Engagement to improve business performance. A key ingredient of this approach is the use of IML's Question Wizard interactive system. When designed into a management event with experienced facilitation, Question Wizard makes it possible to energize participants, test understanding, challenge opinions, develop consensus and build commitment. On this occasion we also had the benefit of an IML operator who played a key role in customizing the approach to meet our needs and that of our client. We see our partnership with IML as very important to our business."

It’s about listening,” said IML director Ray Hansen. “You have to listen and pay attention, and you’ve got to contribute. You have to start giving people valuable information. Otherwise they’re not listening to you.”
